Who we are: A group of Basalt, Colorado citizens encouraging conservation and energy efficiency in our Roaring Fork Valley.


       Carbondale Compost Bin         

Hours: M-F 7 am to 3 pm. Closed on weekends and holidays.

Accepts: Cardboard (must be flat), newspapers, magazines, waxy cereal boxes, phone books and compostable plastic products (look for PLA on the bottom.)

Directions:    From the intersection of #82 and #133 drive west one half mile. Turn left. Past Grand Junction Pipe and opposite the restaurant Dos Gringos is an entrance  to the fenced Carbondale Public Works yard (0756 Highway 133). The bin is (as of November 2008) on the right with a sign saying 'Recycle Station.' There are plans to move it outside the gate of the fenced yard. Cacaloco Compost will turn the contents into fertilizer.
